Dal fry (Yellow Lentil curry)

Ingredients - 
Dal fry
  1. Chana Dal( Yellow Lentil)- 2 Handful
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Red Chilli Powder  - 1/2 tsp ( if needed spicy)
  5. Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  7. Garlic - 2-3 cloves ( finely chopped)
  8. Onion - 1/2 (chopped)
  9. Tomatoes - 1 (diced)
  10. Green Chilli - 1 (chopped)
  11. Cooking Oil - 1 tsp
  12. Cilantro - 1/2 cup ( chopped, for garnishing)
 Directions -

Boiled Lentil
  • Boil washed Chana Dal, with salt and turmeric powder, in a pressure cooker for 15-20 minutes.
  • In a heated pan, add oil with cumin seeds, let it crackle.
  • Add minced garlic, fry till it turn brown, add chopped onion and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add diced tomato, fry till tomato turns soft.
  • Add boiled lentil in the pan, mix it properly.
  • Cover and let it get cooked for 10-15 minutes, on medium flame.
  • Garnish it with chopped cilantro.
  • Fried Garlic, Onion and tomatoes
  • Serve it hot with tortilla/ roti or rice.
