Vanilla- Chocolate layered Cake

Many of us prefers to bake a cake at home. 1 of the reason behind it is, we like baking it with our friends and another main reason is we can adjust fat and sugar according to our taste. My reason behind baking is I love baking. My passion of experimenting, leads me to experiment a layered cake at home.


This  is completely my idea of creation, so please feel free to give it a try at your home. I made different batters for different layers of cake, so here I will be giving you the ingredients of those different layers.


Ingredients for Vanilla layer - 
  1. All Purpose flour - 2 Big cups
  2. Milk Powder - 1 Big Cup
  3. Baking powder - 1 tbsp
  4. Olive Oil - 1 Big cup
  5. Sugar - 3/4 Big cup
  6. Vanilla drops - 3 tbsp
  7. Whipped Cream - 1/2 Big cup
  8. Almonds - 1/4 Big Cup
  9. Milk - 1/2 Small Cup
Directions for Vanilla Layer - 
  • Flour mixture- Mix All Purpose flour, Milk Powder and Baking Powder together.
  • Sugar Mixture- Mix Olive Oil, Sugar, Vanilla drops and Whipped Cream.
  • Add Flour Mixture in small portions to Sugar Mixture, stirring continuously.
  • When all Flour Mixture is added, add milk and mix thoroughly.
  • Add Almonds to the mixture, and stir for another 5 minutes.
  • Keep it aside.
Ingredients for Chocolate Layer - 
  1.  All Purpose flour - 1 Big cups
  2. Milk Powder - 1/2 Big Cup
  3. Baking powder - 1/2 tbsp
  4. Olive Oil - 1/2 Big cup
  5. Sugar - 1/2 Big cup
  6. Chocolate Powder - 1/4 cup
  7. Coffee Powder - 2 tbsp
  8. Whipped Cream - 1/2 Big cup
  9. Almonds - 1/4 Big Cup
  10. Milk - 1/2 Small Cup or as required
  11. Chocolate Syrup
Directions for Chocolate Layer - 
  • Flour mixture- Mix All Purpose flour, Milk Powder and Baking Powder together.
  • Sugar Mixture- Mix Olive Oil, Sugar, Chocolate Powder, Coffee Powder and Whipped Cream.
  • Add Flour Mixture in small portions to Sugar Mixture, stirring continuously.
  • When all Flour Mixture is added, add milk and mix thoroughly.
  • Add Almonds to the mixture, and stir for another 5 minutes.
  • Keep it aside.
Directions to add Vanilla and Chocolate batter to the Cake pan -
  • Oil the cake pan, and sprinkle flour in the pan.
  • Add 1/2 quantity of Vanilla mixture to the cake pan.
  • Add whole mixture of Chocolate batter to the cake pan.
  • Add rest of Vanilla batter from the top, covering the Chocolate batter completely.
  • Add chocolate syrup from the top, in any design you want.
  • Preheat the oven at 350 deg for 5 minutes.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Keep checking the cake until the fork comes out clean completely.


(Chocolate Powder and Coffee Powder can be replaced by 1/2 cup of Cocoa Powder)

Aloo Matar Paneer

We all say, potato is not good for our health, it has starch but do not have any good properties, and do not eat potatoes especially when you are reducing your weight. But, there are some important facts of Potatoes which we have always ignored.

Some of them are-

  1. Rich in Carohydrate, and helps in supplying energy.
  2. It is important for healthy digestive track.
  3. It is healthy source of Vitamins and Minerals.
  4. It is rich in Potassium- Important for body growth and cell maintenance.
  5. It has substantial amount of Vitamin C and B6.
  6. It is vital for blood clotting, wound healing, strong immune system, normal nervous system and converting food we eat into energy.
  7. Also helps lower blood pressure.
 Now, there are some more important facts of potatoes, they are loved by every1 in family. When little ones do not eat anything, give them potatoes, they will never refuse. When anyone is having stomach problems, the Potato Juice helps reduce stomach acid and heal gastrointestinal inflammation. 3-4 tbsp of Potato Juice taken before meals, helps in reducing stomach problems.

Ingredients - 
  1. Potatoes (peeled) - 2 medium (diced)
  2. Paneer - 1 cup (cut in cubes)
  3. Peas - 1 cup
  4. Garlic - 3-4 cloves
  5. Onion - 1 medium
  6. Tomato paste - 1/2 cup
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander Powder - 1tsp
  10. Red Chilli Powder -1/2 tsp
  11. Almond Paste - 2 tbsp
  12. Garam Masala Powder - 1tsp

Directions -
  • Grind onion, garlic and ginger, together.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and saute till lightly browned.
  • Dice potatoes. 
  • Add the ground paste to the pan and saute till lightly browned, stirring frequently.
  • Add potatoes, salt and turmeric powder and mix. Add ¼ cup water and mix well. Cover and cook till potatoes are almost done.
  • Cut paneer into small cubes. Add coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix.
  • Add tomato puree and mix. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add green peas and mix. Cover and cook till the vegetables are done.
  • Add Almond paste and mix well. And paneer and mix. 
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and serve hot with roti.

Bread Egg Roll

As I have mentioned in my earlier posts, about my love of egg, so again wanted to make something which is not common. This is totally my idea, so apologies if u do not like the idea. But, since I loved the taste so sharing it with you guys. Feel free to make and share with your friends and loved ones.

It can be made instantly, without any earlier preparations. Egg Lovers will definitely love them.

Preparation Time - 5-7 minutes
Cook time- 15 minutes

Ingredients for 2 people- 
  1. Potato - 2 (boiled)
  2. Bread - 4 pieces
  3. Onion - 1/2 ( big and chopped)
  4. Oil to fry Potato mixture - 2 tbsp
  5. Green Chilli - 2 (slited)
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Aamchur Powder - 1 tsp
  8. Red chilli flakes  -  1tsp
  9. Egg - 2 
  10. Oil to fry rolls - 1cup
Directions -
Mashed Potato
  • In a pan, add oil, heat it and add chopped onions and slit green chilli, fry till it turns light brown in color or looks transparent.
Fried Potato Mixture
  •  Mash the boiled potato, and add it to the fried onions.
  • Add salt and aamchur powder to the Potato mixture.
  • Fry for another 2-3 minutes on high flame.
Beated Egg

  • In a bowl, beat egg, add salt, red chilli flakes, and beat again.
Potato Mixture in a Bread

  •  Take the bread, wet in a water, squeeze all the water out, make a small boll of the potato mixture and wrap the wet bread around the potato ball.
  • Flaten the roll.
Ready Bread Egg roll

  • Wrap the egg mixture around the roll.
  • Heat the oil in another pan, add the roll and fry it on either sides (can also be made on a flat pan with just 1 tsp of oil around the roll, and cook it on either sides).
