Sweet Potato curry (for babies)

Ingredients- Sweet Potato- 1 ( peeled and diced) Red Lentils - 1/2 Cup Onion - 1/4 (chopped) Salt to taste Turmeric Powder - 1 pinch Cumin Powder - 1 pinch Coriander Powder- 1 pinch Unsalted butter/ Ghee( melted) - 1tsp Directions - Add butter in a heated pan, add onions and stir it, till it turns light brown. Add sweet potato with spices and fry till it turns brown in clour. Add red lentils with water and cook for another 15-20 minutes with lid covered on medium flame. Serve it with white rice.

Vegetable Korma for babies

Ingredients -  Potato - 1/2 ( diced) Onion - 1/4 ( sliced) Carrot - 1/4 ( grated) Bell Pepper- 1/8 ( sliced) Cabbage - 1/2 Cup Peas - 1/2 Cup Cauliflower - 1/2 cup Green beans - 2-3 stems( cut in small pieces) Spinach leaves - 8-10 leaves Salt to taste Butter/ Ghee - 1/2 tsp Directions -  Add Ghee in a heated pan, add onions ina pan and saute it until tender. Add potato, carrot, bell pepper, cabbage, peas, cauliflower, green beans and spinach leaves. Add salt with 1/2 glass of water and stir it. Cover the Pan and let it get cooked for another 15 minutes. When vegetables are properly cooked, close the flame.  Mash the vegetables. Serve it to baby at room temperature.

Vegetable Soup

Ingredients- Potato - 1/2 (diced) Tomato- 1/2 ( diced) Onion - 1/4 ( sliced) Peas - 8-10  Cauliflower - 1-2 flowers Green beans - 3-4 beans ( cut in small pieces) Cabbage - 1/2 small cup ( chopped) Spinach leaves - 1/2 Small Cup (chopped) Salt to taste Water (used for baby drinking) - 1 Glass Unsalted butter/Ghee - 1/2 tsp ( melted)  Directions -  Take Ghee in a pan, saute onion, until tender, add all vegetables and stir it for 5 minutes, until the vegetables are soft. Add salt and cumin powder with water, bring it to boil, reduce the flame and let it get cooked for another 10 minutes. When vegetables are all properly cooked, close the flame, mash all the vegetables. With a drainer, separate the mashed vegetables with its juice. Serve it at room temperature to baby.

Boiled Apple

Ingredients- Apple- 1 ( cut in small pieces) Distilled water/ Water used for drinking for baby - 1 cup Directions- Take the Apple in a bowl to boil with water. Boil till Apple turns soft. Close the flame and let it col down. Mash the apple and remove the skin. Keep the water, as it will make the apple more of a semi liquid form, which will be much easier for babies to take in.

Mashed Banana

Ingredients-  Banana- 1 Baby formula - 1 tsp Directions - Mash banana properly. Add a spoon of milk powder or any baby formula, you are using. Mix them, and give it to baby preferably in daytime.

Fox nut pudding ( makhana kheer)

Ingredients- Fox nut ( Makhana)- 1 Bowl Milk - 2 bowl Sugar- 4-5 spoons Almonds - 8-10 pieces ( not for babies) Raisins - 1/2 cup ( 4-5 pieces for babies) Directions - Cut fox nut in small pieces.  Boil Milk in a pan, add cut fox nut in a boiling Milk. Cook it on a medium flame for 15-20 minutes. When fox nut turns soft, close the flame, add sugar, stir it. Garnish it with crushed almonds and raisins. Serve it cold.

Sago pudding ( Sabudana kheer)

Ingredients- Sago - 1 Handful Sugar - 3-4 Spoons Milk - 2 Cup Almonds - 8-10 pieces ( not for babies) Raisins - 8-10 Directions -  Soak Sago for 1 hour. After an hr, boil milk  in an open pan. Add Sago in boiling milk. Reduce the flame, let it get cooked for another 15-20 minutes. The Sago will turn transparent. Close the flame. Stir the pudding, as it will stick in a pan below. Add Sugar and let it get cold to room temperature. Garnish it with crushed almonds and raisins. Serve it cold.

Cracked wheat-lintel kinner ( Daliya khichdi)

Ingredients -  Cracked wheat - 1/2 cup Red Lintel - 1/2 cup Salt to taste Turmeric powder - 1 pinch Cabbage - 1/4 cup Carrot (chopped)- 1/4 cup Peas - 4-6 seeds Green beans - 1 stem ( cut in small pieces) Directions -  Fry cracked wheat- red lintel in a pan with 1/2 tsp of melted butter ( if your baby is small and can't eat butter, then fry the mix in a dry pan).  When all water is dried up, add salt and turmeric powder, mix it. Add all vegetables with a glass of water. Transfer the content in a pressure cooker and give 2 whistles. Close the flame and let the cooker release its pressure. Transfer the khichdi in an open bowl and smash all vegetables, rice with a big spoon. Make it a point all vegetables are properly mixed, as babies push them out of their mouth. Serve it in a room temperature. NOTE- If the khichdi is not mixed properly and still vegetables are seen and if you feel ur baby won't be able to eat, then use a mixer jar to mix it.

Cracked wheat pudding ( daliya kheer)

Ingredients - Cracked wheat (daliya) - 1 handful Milk - 1 bowl Sugar - 2 tsp Water - 1 glass Directions -  Boil cracked wheat in water for 10 minutes, till wheat is almost cooked. Add milk and give it a boil for 3-4 minutes, mix it properly. Add sugar, spread it in an open bowl and let it cool down to room temperature. Serve it to your baby on room temperature. NOTE - TO MAKE THE DALIYA PUDDING MORE DELICIOUS AND IF BABY LIKES A FLAVOR OF MILK POWDER, ADD 1 SPOON OF MILK POWDER IN A HOT PUDDING, MIX IT, IT WILL GIVE MORE CREAMIER TASTE.

Semolina milk pudding ( Suzi kheer)

Ingredients -  Semolina - 1/2 cup Sugar - 1tsp Milk - 1/2 glass Directions -  Boil a glass of water in a pan, add semolina, cook it for 8-10 minutes. When semolina cooked, add milk and cook it for 5 more minutes. Add sugar, switch off the flame.  Garnish it with almonds and raisins ( not for babies). Semolina pudding thickens when get cold, so before serving add half a cup of milk. Give it to baby when pudding is at room temperature. NOTE FOR FEEDING BABIES- IF SEMOLINA IS COOKED DIRECTLY IN MILK, THE WATER CONTENT OF MILK EVAPORATES, MILK THICKENS, QUITE DIFFICULT FOR BABY TO DIGEST. IF BABIES STOMACH IS UPSET, USE THE SAME THING TO FEED BABY, ONLY THING TO SUBSTITUTE IS MILK. After cooking semolina, add sugar, switch off the flame, and add 1tbsp of milk powder or powder ( lactose free). Mix it properly and give it to baby.

Semolina ( Suzi) stew ( for babies above 9 months)

Ingredients -  Semolina ( Suzi) - 1 cup Salt to taste Carrot - 1/2 ( cut in small pieces) Green Beans - 2 ( cut in small pieces) Onion - 1/2 cup ( chopped) Corn seeds - 8-10 pieces Ghee ( unsalted butter) - 1tsp Directions -  In a 1 tsp of ghee ( unsalted butter), add semolina and fry it for 5 minutes, so that all butter is evenly spread all over semolina. Add all vegetables, keep on frying until the semolina turns brown. Add salt and water ( double in amount), Mix it, check whether the vegetables got cooked or not. If yes, then on high flame keep on stirring. If not, then on medium flame cover the pan and let the vegetables get cooked.  Let all the water get dried up. The stew is ready for baby. NOTE - DO NOT USE CAULIFLOWER AND PEAS IN VEGETABLES, AS IT MIGHT CAN RESULT IN BAD DIGESTION AND GASTRIC PROBLEMS IN BABIES.

Semolina (suzi) stew for babies under 9 mnths

Ingredients- Semolina ( suzi)- 1/2 cup Potato - 1/4 ( cut in small pieces) Salt to taste Unsalted butter (ghee) - 1/4 tsp ( only if ur baby is able to digest ghee, otherwise this dish taste goods even without ghee) Directions - Fry semolina in a dry heated pan until it turns brown. Add cut potato in a pan, with salt. Keep on stirring for 5 minutes. Add water ( double in quantity) and cook it. Keep on stirring, until water completely gets absorbed. Add ghee for giving it to baby ( only add if baby is able to digest ghee) NOTE - ALWAYS TASTE FOOD, TEMPERATURE AND TASTE BEFORE GIVING IT TO BABY. IF IT TASTES GOOD TO YOU THEN ONLY BABY WILL LIKE IT. DON'T GIVE HOT FOOD TO BABY AS IT MIGHT BE VERY HOT FOR BABY.
