Brocolli Parantha
Vegetables are so nutritious... So, many wide variety of veggies are available in the stores. The only problem, is how to make these kids eat them. Mine just want to stay away from veggies, and only thing she likes to eat is Macaroni and Cheese. Well, I just can't give Macaroni and Cheese in all meals... So, started making veggies in different ways, which now she not only like it, she eats the whole meal by herself.. And no more, arguments on the dinner table.. Yayyyyy..
Do you know, Broccoli has a lots of Vitamin C and dietary fiber. It also has lots of nutrients, which has a anti cancer properties... I use it all the time in my recipes, but my little kid just do not want to eat these little trees.... They are out of her plate, as soon as she sees them...
So, experimented some options to make her eat Broccoli.. And this is the 1 idea, which is super-duper hit with her...
Yummy delicious Broccoli Parantha..
Ingredients to make a dough -
- Whole Wheat four (Atta) - 2 cups
- Salt- 1tsp
- Water as required
Ingredients you will need for filling-
- Broccoli florets - 4-5
- Garlic Salt - 1/2 tsp ( Can use 2 Garlic cloves minced)
- Salt to taste (put
- Black pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Chat Masala - 1/2 tsp
Directions to follow -
- Mix Atta with salt.
- Knead a dough, with minimal amount of water... Little on tighter side but not soft..
- Cover and leave it for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, grate Broccoli.
- Put it in a bowl. Add salt, garlic salt, black pepper powder and chat masala.
- Now, take a dough equal to the size of walnut. Press it by palms,and make a hole in center.
- Fill the Broccoli filling.
- Close it, and again press it between palms.
- Put the ball in some extra dry flour.
- Roll it slowly and with minimum pressure.
- Heat the pan (Tawa), and then reduce the temperature between low to medium.
- Roast the Parantha on either side, without oil/ghee.
- Apply Ghee/oil on both sides, and cook on medium temperature.
- Cook till it is slightly crunchy on either sides.
- Enjoy it with Raita/ Dahi wada/ Pickles..
