Jalebi

Jalebi is one of the most famous sweet dish of India. It is one of those dishes which is loved by everybody, younger or elder. Every member of family loves to enjoy Jalebi's and when it comes in a combination of Rabri, it is the best sweet dish ever. In every sweet shops, we get jalebi. There are few varieties of Jalebi, and among them the most common is known as Jalebi and Imrati. The recipe of Imrati will also be following shortly. Right now, just talk about Jalebi.

I still remember, when we were small, me and my siblings, we use to wait for Independence Day and Republic Day, as we get the hot jalebis on this particular day. So, here is the delicious recipe of Jalebi for everyone.


Ingredients - 
  1. All purpose flour - 1 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
  2. Milk - 1 1/2 cup + 1tbsp
  3. Sugar- 2 cups
  4. Cardamom Powder - 1tsp
  5. Orange Color - 1tsp

Directions - 
  • Mix All purpose flour with milk, and keep on beating for 30 minutes.
  • Cover it and keep it in the warm place for 24 hours.
  • After 24 hours, take out the mixture and again beat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 2 tbsp of Flour and again beat for another 10 minutes.
  • Add color and mix it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Transfer the content to the bottle which has small opening (like Sirarcha Chilli Sauce bottle, the tip of the bottle should be similar, it will make your work much easy).
  • In the heated Oil, add the content of mixture in Oil in spiral form by pressing through the bottle, start  from outside towards inside for better results.

  • Fry on either sides, till it is Golden Brown in color.

  • Take it out and add it to the Sugar syrup.

  • Soak it for 2-3 minutes, and serve it hot.

Sugar Syrup-
  • Add water and Sugar, and mix it on high temperature.
  • After the Syrup boils, add a spoon of milk and remove all the scum which collects on the surface and discard it.
  • Add Cardamom Powder.
  • Let the mixture boil for 10 minutes.
  • Close the flame, and let the Syrup cool to the Luke arm temperature.
